Mental Health Awareness Week
“Movement: Moving more for our mental health.”
Mental health comprehensively requires understanding the connection between biological, psychological, and social elements. With 1 in 4 individuals experiencing a mental health problem each year, it's evident that mental health issues affect a significant portion of the population.
Focusing on the theme of "Movement" for this year's campaign is particularly poignant, as movement not only denotes physical activity but also encompasses progress, change, and the journey towards better mental health. Movement can increase your energy, reduce stress and anxiety, and boost your self-esteem, a great way to encourage individuals to take proactive steps towards improving their mental wellbeing.
Creating awareness, reducing stigma, and advocating for accessible mental health services are crucial steps in ensuring that everyone receives the support they need. Through initiatives like these, we can work towards a society where mental health is prioritized and where individuals feel empowered to seek help when needed.
A team at IWC have signed up to the Strava – Around The World challenge, challenging themselves to accumulate as many miles as possible throughout the month, virtually exploring different countries while raising awareness for mental health and celebrating the positive impact of physical activity on the mind.
