Recently, we had the privilege of attending Cardiff University to deliver a presentation about who we are as a business and the work we do, particularly focusing on fire doors and cladding. This opportunity came as a result of the excellent standards demonstrated on our Fairwater campus project for BESL, where our commitment to quality and compliance stood out.
Why This Matters
The invitation was extended by Gareth Lewis, the Clerk of Works on the Fairwater project, who was impressed by our procedures and knowledge. Clerks of Works play a vital role in project handovers, ensuring quality and compliance. The Presentation
Andrew Davies, Contracts Manager at IWC, held the session at Cardiff University which was structured as follows:
10 minutes introducing the Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI) and its importance in the industry.
15 minutes on cladding, including a short video to illustrate best practices.
60 minutes dedicated to fire doors and current industry regulations—a topic critical to safety and compliance.
