IWC are actively involved in various events hosted by Careers Wales including ‘Choose Your Future’, which is an event where we collaborate with 5 other companies to deliver an interactive session for those interested in construction. Throughout the year, IWC deliver career talks and interactive sessions within schools and colleges promoting the construction industry, showcasing a range of employment opportunities for both trade and commercial staff.
Our Apprentice applications process begins each January, interviews are conducted at our Head Office and at 4 associated colleges, as a company we are committed to supporting 40 apprentices into the industry by 2030!
Our new recruits are supplied with a basic tool kit, full PPE, wet weather gear and safety boots, together with an appointed liaison officer in house. They receive a comprehensive and quality training programme rotating across various sites, including commercial and housing thus ensure all aspects of carpentry, from first fix, roofing and finals is captured. Strong working relationships with the colleges ensure both training provider and colleges are working in collaboration to achieve a common goal of a successful apprenticeship programme.
At IWC, we continue to recognise the incredible work done by our apprentices alongside their commitment and attitude to carpentry as a profession.
